What you can expect from our program

FitKids staff are people leaders who share a common interest in fitness, healthy living, and the wellbeing of children.  We promote these elements through good role modeling and positivity while creating a safe/structured environment in which your child can flourish. Through our physical literacy program, designed by certified coaches, your child will not only improve his/her primary motor skills but will have an opportunity to build confidence and improve their motivation.

At FitKids, you can expect to be greeted by friendly and respectful staff who genuinely care about your child’s wellbeing.  We encourage healthy, age-appropriate social skills and, as such, promote good manners, respectful interactions, and basic human kindness always.  We will adjust and nurture your child based on their needs and help them to thrive amongst their peers.  As they say, “It Takes a Village to Raise a Child” and we take a lot of pride in participating in their growth and being part of their village.  It is a gift to us when our FitKids graduate, and we have given them the gift of health and the necessary skills to be mentally and physically healthy.

We look forward to meet you.

Mission

FitKids main goal is to help children create lifelong habits that emphasize a healthy lifestyle, a strong mindset, and a positive view on physical activity.

History

As a former schoolteacher and major proponent of healthy living, I was troubled by the number of students who fell asleep in class, lacked energy, and often seemed depressed or apathetic. I had a calling for working with children and a passion for athletics that lead me to deciding to use those two driving forces to leave teaching and launch FitKids in 2006. Since then, we have had the privilege to help, guide and expose a lot of children, from Fredericton and surrounding areas to the benefits of healthy and active living. My greatest joy, as the founder, is to see those same children, years later as young adults or older, still living a healthy lifestyle, exercising, and achieving great things, both academically and athletically.
